Tobias Feldt joined GIZ in Eschborn, Germany in April 2019, serving as advisor for livestock and animal husbandry. He succeeds Paul Schuetz, who represented GIZ for more than four years. His new position is a career shift from his previous role as administrative officer at the municipality of Celle, Germany. Feldt has a degree in landscape ecology from Oldenburg with various internships in Germany, South Africa, Israel and Austria and received his PhD on pastoral land use systems in SW Madagascar from the University of Kassel-Witzenhausen. His postdoctoral phase focused on (peri-)urban agriculture and land use conflicts between pastoral cattle and resident crop farmers in Cameroon. Feldt looks forward to continued fruitful cooperation with the Livestock CRP.
