Karen Marshall is a senior scientist at the International Livestock Research Institute. She completed her PhD in animal breeding at the University of New England in Australia. Currently her research interests are focused on the use of animal genetic resources in developing country livestock production systems. Marshall works in a number of countries located in Africa and Asia, on a wide range of livestock production systems and species. She is passionate about working towards poverty alleviation and improved food security.
