With the support of the CGIAR Research Program on Livestock, a team of researchers developed a community conversation module on animal welfare. The module uses the community conversation approach to address livestock and community needs.
Through the CGIAR Research Program on Livestock, ILRI and the International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA) have been engaging community members in community conversations to better understand and address farmers’ challenges in accessing agricultural information.
Gender division of labor exposes women and men to different levels of risk to zoonotic diseases. Women are more exposed to zoonotic diseases due to their gender roles and limited awareness and access to information.
Our experience shows that community conversations are an effective way of empowering community groups to identify and analyse gender relations concerns and enabling community members to take collective actions.
