The International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA) and the Brazilian Corporation for Agricultural Research (EMBRAPA) in partnership with the Ethiopian and Tanzanian National Agricultural Research Institutes have secured a competitive grant to scale out community-based breeding programs (CBBPs) in Ethiopia and Tanzania.
The livestock health flagship of the CGIAR Research Program (CRP) on Livestock is supporting the transformation of small ruminant value chain in Ethiopia. To this end, an integrated approach to tackle key livestock health-related challenges has been devised.
Tools and approaches for estimating feed supply and demand in sufficiently disaggregated forms can enable realistic assessments of achievable productivity gains and greater economic benefits from livestock value chains interventions.
