In 2012, the CGIAR Research Program on Livestock and Fish was established as part of the CGIAR portfolio of agricultural research programs. See http://livestockfish.cgiar.org for more information.
The first phase of CGIAR research programs (CRP) will end in December 2016 and CGIAR centres and partners are developing a portfolio of second phase ‘agri-food system’ research programs.
As part of this process, the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) is leading development of a new phase 2 livestock agri-food systems research program proposal to follow from the current livestock and fish program.
This web site has been set up to help generate inputs into the proposal development (like we did for Livestock and Fish in 2010 and 2011).
We hope that the inputs and feedback will:
- Question and validate the approaches we propose
- Help us sharpen our proposal
- Engage the wider livestock (and agricultural research) for development communities in our work
See the basic ideas, so far, for the new proposal
